The Kings Ridge Water Wizards compete in the Northern Virginia Swim League (NVSL) Division 14. Joining the swim team will be the most fun you have all summer! For the youngest swimmers, Kings Ridge has a developmental team called the Mini-Wizards. These swimmers are generally 5-6 years old and can propel themselves across the shallow end without touching the bottom. The Mini Wizard program is not a "learn to swim" program. All potential Minis will be screened at the beginning of the season for skill requirements. If your child is not ready for the developmental team, group or private swim lesson can be arranged with the coaching staff or lifeguards. The Minis meet 4 days per week for 30 minutes. The goal for the Minis is to improve swim skills and be able to compete in one B meet this swim season. The Mini-Wizard season is June 25th through July 20th. Kings Ridge will host a Mini-wizard meet on Friday morning, July 20th. There will also be a Lollipop meet on July 30th. At the Lollipop meet, mini-wizard will participate with minis from other pools in the area in modified events at each age level. Mini-Wizards are considered full swim team members and will receive a participation award. They are included in team pictures, activities, and social events.
The success of our team depends on volunteers. Please support your children and the team by volunteering for one of the many opportunities available. Most of the opportunities require little or no training, others require a brief training clinic sponsored by the NVSL. We are in need of new Stroke and Turn judges for the upcoming season. This is a wonderful opportunity to help the pool, learn to recognize legal/illegal swim strokes, and help your own swimmer through your knowledge.

Susan Lemery will check with parents of registered swim team participants the first week that swimming begins to update health histories. If nothing has changed with your swimmer’s health history, you WILL NOT need to fill out another form but will need to initial last years.

Swimteam Calendar:
- Daily afternoon practice starts May 29th: MS and HS 3:30 to 4:15 pm, 8 & under swimmers (excluding minis) 4:15 to 5:00 pm., 9 to 12 year olds 5:00 to 5:45 pm
- Daily practice times change to morning hours starting June 20nd: 8 am to 9 am for 9-12 year old swimmers, 9 am to 10 am for 8 & under swimmers, and 10 am to 11am for 13 and over swimmers.
- Mini-wizards begin June 25th at 10:30am
